FIA probes threats to ‘Kaptaan’ actors: report

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has started an investigation into death threats made via Facebook to the two main actors in Kaptaan, a film based on cricketer-turned-politician Imran Khan’s life, report said on Monday. Abdul Manan, who plays the role of Imran Khan in the movie, and Saeeda Imtiaz, who plays Khan’s ex-wife Jemima Goldsmith, approached the FIA’s National Response.

Inauguration of park named after Umer Sharif in Clifton

Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan on Wednesday inaugurated a park in Clifton named after famous stage and TV artiste Umer Sharif. The park, near Bilawal House Chowrangi and Ziauddin Hospital, was constructed on a 2.3 acre piece of land at the cost of Rs26million. Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad Khan, on the occasion, said that parks had already been named after the late Mehdi Hassan and Moin Akhtar.

                Varsha Bhosle, the daughter of renowned singer Asha Bhosle, reportedly committed suicide today by shooting herself. According to reports there was a licensed weapon present in the singer’s residence which Varsha had used to shoot herself.
